The SimVenture Leadership Team is responsible for the continuous development of the company's business simulation technology. The team includes key professionals with strong backgrounds in software engineering, entrepreneurship and education. All the people involved with the development of the technology are fully committed to improving the way people, all over the world, learn, teach and train. Originally destined to teach, Peter setup his first company 'Qa Research' following graduation in 1989. Since then he has developed and grown a number of successful businesses in the fields of design, print, consultancy and most recently software. Having seen many other businesses fail, Peter began research in 2001 to examine how people might be better prepared for the rigours of starting and running a business; ultimately his work led to the launch of SimVenture Classic. Peter is an ardent supporter of high quality, authentic learning solutions, keen blogger and leads the SimVenture team and its ambition to be the world's most renowned supplier of business simulation technology.
Paul has over 30 years' experience working as a software engineer. He is responsible for all the code that underpins SimVenture Classic and led the team to build SimVenture Evolution. After graduating from the University of Surrey, Paul worked for several companies where he was able to develop an in-depth knowledge of how sophisticated simulations operate. Paul continues to be part of the team that provides support to all clients.
Paul Brough Jones
Following an 18-year career as a teacher, headteacher and education consultant in the primary sector, Paul joined Venture Simulations in 2009. As a skilled trainer and learning technologist Paul leads the SimVenture Learning and Development Team and is pivotal to the way users as well as teachers/trainers make best use of the business simulations. Tasked with a global remit, Paul works with clients and Partner Agents all over the world.
Lesley has worked in the Higher Education sector as a pioneer of technology enhanced learning for many years. She has several published articles and is a Learning & Teaching Fellow and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Lesley has an MBA, is a Certified Trainer and she has also held the post of Programme Group Leader in Marketing & Human Resources. Having worked in a number of industries, before working in academia, Lesley has a strong commercial background (both in the UK and overseas). She has also managed several micro-enterprises and now works as a Learning and Development Manager within the SimVenture Leadership Team.
Mike is a highly experienced business educator and finance professional. He worked for 30 years as a management accountant, and finance systems implementer in a range of international companies. After that, Mike taught for 10 years in Teesside University Business School, where he worked on a number of business and accounting programmes. Mike led the introduction of SimVenture Classic at Teesside and has enthusiastically delivered many hundreds of sessions using the software with diverse groups of learners ranging from Year 10 school pupils to process plant supervisors and MBA students.
A seasoned entrepreneur and social media specialist, Will provides leadership to the Business Development team. Will champions entrepreneurship education and has experienced both success and failure on his own journey. He is a big fan of Venture Creation/StartUp/Hackathon events and gets excited about disruption. An avid reader, Will loves learning and is always in continuous professional development mode. Will has a B.Comm from University College Dublin and a Masters in Entrepreneurship from the University of Limerick; and whilst here, he used SimVenture Classic on the business simulation module. So impressed was he by the technology, Will became part of the VSL team soon after. In January 2017, he joined the UK SimVenture Leadership team and is now responsible for Education Business Development.
