I want to have the students compete against each other either as individuals and/or in groups – is this possible?
It is possible to have learners operate in a competitive environment. They can compete against each other as individuals or in teams all over the world. How well each company is doing can be seen in the control tower environment. Different measurements of success can be used against set targets which can be hard or soft targets.
There are a wide range of targets that could be selected, depending on the type of competition. Typical “hard” or easily quantifiable targets are profit, bank balance, number of sales orders, sales value, etc. These can be identified for each team using the Control Tower.
Where the competition takes place over a significant period, and perhaps results in a final written or oral presentation, then “soft” targets such as the quality of explanation of the decision process, demonstration of effective teamwork, linking decisions to academic theory etc. could also be chosen.
